Business Access Control and Door Entry Systems
Control who can enter which areas, remove access the day someone leaves, and have a record you can actually check.
Our Approach to Access control
Keys do not scale. They get copied, lost and never returned, and nobody can tell you who entered the building at seven on a Sunday. Electronic access control replaces that with permissions you can change in seconds and logs you can review, provided the system is designed around your real entry points and administered properly afterwards.
Everything You Need From Access control
- Site and entry-point assessment
- Electronic door access, cards, fobs and keypads
- Mobile credentials where the chosen system supports them
- Audio and video intercoms for visitor entry
- Role-based permissions and joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Access logs, secure administration, installation and ongoing support
Assessing the doors and the people
Access control design is as much about process as hardware: which doors matter, which groups need them, when, and who will administer the system day to day.
- Entry points, internal doors and restricted areas such as server rooms
- Staff groups, contractors, cleaners and visitors, and their access windows
- Existing door hardware and whether it can carry electronic locking
- Cabling, power and network availability at each door
- Who administers access, and how requests will reach them
Credentials, permissions and everyday administration
The value of access control shows up in the routine: a new starter with the right doors on day one, a leaver revoked the same afternoon, and a contractor whose access expires automatically.
- Cards, fobs and keypads, with mobile credentials where supported
- Role-based permission groups rather than per-person configuration
- Joiner, mover and leaver process aligned to your IT onboarding
- Temporary and time-limited access for contractors and visitors
- Audio or video intercom for managing arrivals at reception
- Integration with CCTV where the chosen systems support it
Logs, safety and responsibilities
Access logs are useful for investigations and for demonstrating control during audits, provided access to the logs is itself controlled and the data is kept for a justified period.
Fire safety, emergency escape and building-control requirements must be addressed by appropriately qualified parties. Electronic locking must never compromise safe egress, and we design and install on that basis rather than advising on those regulations ourselves.
- Access logs with controlled viewing and a defined retention period
- Named administrators and secure, role-based system access
- Coordination with your fire and building-safety advisers on egress
- Documentation of doors, credentials and permission groups
- Ongoing support, credential management and firmware maintenance
How a Project Works
- 1
Survey
Assess doors, groups, existing hardware and cabling at each entry point.
- 2
Design
Agree the permission model, credential type and administration process.
- 3
Install
Coordinate door hardware, cabling, controllers and network configuration.
- 4
Configure
Build permission groups, enrol users and test every door and scenario.
- 5
Support
Document the system, handle credential changes and maintain it over time.
The Outcomes You'll Actually See
Access changes in minutes
Permissions follow roles, so joiners, movers and leavers are handled without changing locks.
A record you can check
Access logs support investigations and give auditors evidence that entry is controlled.
Designed with IT in mind
Controllers are treated as network devices, with segmentation and controlled administration.
What Success Looks Like
- A documented door and permission model matched to your teams
- Credentials issued, revoked and time-limited through a clear process
- Reviewable access logs with controlled administration
- Installed, tested systems with ongoing support and maintenance

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we use phones instead of cards?+
Where the chosen system supports mobile credentials, yes. It removes the cost and admin of lost cards, though most organisations keep some physical credentials for visitors and contractors.
Can access control be linked to our CCTV?+
Where both systems support it, entry events can be associated with footage, which makes investigations far quicker. We confirm what is achievable with the specific products before designing it in.
What about fire exits and emergency escape?+
Safe egress and fire-safety requirements must be addressed by appropriately qualified fire and building-safety professionals. We coordinate with them and install accordingly, but we do not advise on those regulations ourselves.
Do you support biometric readers or automatic gates?+
Biometrics, automated barriers and gate control are outside our current scope. Our focus is electronic door access, intercoms, credentials and the administration around them.
