VoIP & Teams Phone

Business VoIP and Microsoft Teams Phone Solutions

Telephony designed around how calls should be answered, then delivered with the right licensing, numbers, devices and user training.

Overview

Our Approach to VoIP & Teams Phone

Cloud telephony removes the phone system from the cupboard and puts call handling under your control, wherever people work. The technology is the easy part: the value comes from designing call flows that match how your business actually answers the phone, porting numbers without losing a call, and making sure the licensing genuinely supports external calling.

What's Included

Everything You Need From VoIP & Teams Phone

  • Cloud-hosted telephony and Microsoft Teams Phone design
  • Call flows, auto attendants, queues, hunt groups and voicemail
  • Telephone number porting and new number provision
  • User licensing review and PSTN connectivity options
  • Handsets, headsets and device configuration where required
  • Migration planning, user training and ongoing support

Microsoft Teams Phone and what the licensing really means

Standard Microsoft Teams lets your people call each other. It does not, on its own, allow calls to and from ordinary telephone numbers. External calling requires appropriate Teams Phone licensing plus a route to the public telephone network.

There is more than one way to provide that route, including Microsoft Calling Plans, Operator Connect and Direct Routing. We review what suits your usage, number estate and existing agreements, and we only propose an option once it has been confirmed as available for your tenant and requirements.

  • Review of current licensing and what external calling would require
  • Comparison of the appropriate PSTN connectivity options for your case
  • Number estate review, including main numbers, DDIs and any legacy lines
  • Costs laid out per user so the commercial comparison is genuine

Designing call handling around the business

Most telephony complaints are call-flow problems, not technology problems: calls that ring out, queues nobody owns, or an out-of-hours message that has not changed in years. We map how calls should be handled before configuring anything.

  • Auto attendants and menu structures that are short and unambiguous
  • Call queues with agreed ownership, overflow and timeout behaviour
  • Hunt groups, delegation and shared-line requirements
  • Voicemail, transcription and where messages should actually land
  • Out-of-hours, holiday and emergency routing
  • Mobile and remote working, so location stops dictating availability

Porting, rollout and support

Number porting is the part of a telephony project that carries real risk, so it is planned in detail and scheduled to a known window with a fallback position agreed in advance.

Rollout is staged, users are briefed, and support continues after go-live while working habits settle.

  • Port planning with the losing provider, including timings and dependencies
  • Pilot group before wider rollout wherever practical
  • Handset, headset and softphone configuration
  • Short, practical user training and quick-reference guidance
  • Call quality checks against the underlying connectivity
  • Ongoing moves, adds, changes and support

How a Project Works

  1. 1

    Discover

Map current numbers, call flows, licensing, devices and known frustrations.

  2. 2

    Design

Agree the call handling model, licensing and PSTN connectivity approach.

  3. 3

    Build

Configure the platform, auto attendants, queues and users in a test configuration.

  4. 4

    Port and pilot

Migrate numbers to plan and pilot with a small group before the full rollout.

  5. 5

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we just use Microsoft Teams as our phone system?+

Only with the right licensing and a connection to the public telephone network. Ordinary Teams licences cover internal calls and meetings; making and receiving external calls requires Teams Phone licensing plus a calling plan or another PSTN connectivity route.

Can we keep our existing telephone numbers?+

In most cases numbers can be ported, but it has to be confirmed with the current provider as part of planning. We check portability early, agree the timings and keep a fallback position until the port completes.

Do we need desk phones?+

Not necessarily. Many organisations run entirely on headsets and the Teams or softphone app, with handsets kept for reception, shared areas or specific roles. We size the device requirement against how each team works.

Will call quality be good enough on our current internet connection?+

That depends on the connection and how it is configured. We review your connectivity as part of the design and, where needed, recommend traffic priority, a resilient backup path or a different service before any migration.
